Mrs. Atsey Hawkins Mayweather was born in Flat Creek, AL. to the late Mary Hawkins and Deacon Nathaniel Hawkins, Sr.. At an early age she confessed her life to Christ and was a member of Rising Star Baptist Church in Flat Creek, AL. She was peacefully called home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday January 13, 2018. In her early years she attended Dora High School where she was a star basketball player and she graduated top of her class. She later went on to marry her beloved husband, Joe Mayweather, Sr., whom she was married to for 50 years. They resided in Birmingham and to that union seven children were born. She later joined Greater Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. James A.
