Desi was educated in the Birmingham City and Bessemer School Systems and graduated from Jess Lanier High School where he was a star quarterback and highly decorated all star athlete. He later attended Miles College. He confessed Christ Jesus at Mt. Canaan Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Pastors Willie B. and Patricia O'Neal. He faithfully served as Church Elder, member of the mass choir, active in the couple's ministry, christian education department instructor, a "big brother' to many and Pastor's O'Neal's first ever Armour Bearer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Danette. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Nilisha Davis; Children, Desilan  Markquietta Davis, Sharvon Destiny (Shawn) Davis-Hague, Desi, Raphael, Lonnie, and Lil Desi (Amy); Grandchildren, Tyler, Christopher, Chaden, Felicia, Christian, and soon to come, Leo; Siblings, Debra, Doreen, Deneen, Douglas and Delton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service is Saturday Nov. 11, 2017 at Mt. Canaan Full Gospel Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.
