Pastor Kenneth Scott Obituary

-Life and Legacy-

Kenneth Scott was born on November 20, 1958 in Birmingham, AL. He was born to the late Inez Scott and William Henry Wallace. He especially cherished his beloved mother and family.

He graduated from Jackson-Olin High School with honors. During his adolescence, Kenneth was loved and respected by his peers. God blessed him with the talent of music and leadership at an early age. He was a trumpet player in school, band president, homecoming king, and was even lead vocalist of Ocean Soul, a band from the 1970s. God continued to bless his gifts in music and leadership throughout his life.

Pastor Scott gave his life to the Lord at the age of 19. He then chose to proudly serve in the United States Army for 13 years in medical combat as a paramedic, and later was promoted to the rank of sergeant. It was in learning about the military’s strategy and warfare that God used him to teach about the spiritual aspects and strategies of our warfare with Satan.

After proudly serving in the military for 13 years, God called him into the five-fold ministry in 1990. He served in the Christian House of Prayer Ministries in Central Texas as an assistant pastor to Nathaniel Holcomb for 10 years in a congregation of over 3,000 members. In 1996 the Lord called him to leave a thriving ministry to move back to his home here in Birmingham, AL. After leaving Texas, he still continued to maintain his connection with CCI (Covenant Connection International).

It was through this move that the Lord began to use him in writing books. Spiritual Warfare Ministries was founded in 1997. Pastor Scott wrote 14 books which are sold around the world. The series, The Weapons of our Warfare, is still a bestseller in many bookstores around the country and in local bookstores, even after over twenty years. His books can be found in high profile ministries such as World Changers (Creflo Dollar), The Potter’s House (T.D. Jakes), Crenshaw Christian Center (Fred Price), West Angeles COGIC (Bishop Charles Blake, Sr.), and many others. His books have sold over a million copies. He and his wife Doris Regina worked traveling the world in this evangelistic ministry for many years.

Even with the success of these books, evangelizing, and travels, his heart was for his five-fold calling as the pastor of Love of God Ministries. God spoke to Pastor Scott to establish a church in 2001 where members could truly feel the love of God according to Jeremiah 31:3: Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. He served faithfully as pastor of Love of God Ministries for fifteen years. His greatest mission was to teach God’s people how to grow and mature in Christ through teaching them how to rightfully divide the Word, truly fall in love with Jesus, as well as how to love each other.

Pastor Scott was called home from labor to reward on Friday, April 12, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 34 years, Doris Regina Scott; his daughter Angela Scott Cochis (Chris); his sister Ira Scott Benson of Detroit, MI; brothers-in-law Elder Wendell Brantley (Portia); Reverend Erroll Brantley (Jackie); and Howard Brantley; sisters-in-law Jacqueline Scott and Barbara Gaines. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Scott and Clarence Scott, Jr. and sister, Inez Scott. He leaves also to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives, seven godchildren, friends, and Church family members of Love of God Ministries. Pastor Scott loved Pastors Larry and Sandy Ragland and his Solid Rock Church Family.
