Rodregus Travaille Lewis made his transition on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 3:04pm. Recus was born July 21, 1978 to Rosalind Lewis-Griffin and Freddy Smith. He joined New Mount Zion Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Mason. He later rejoined and received Christ at New Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Cedric Small. Recus attended Ensley High School and received his GED at Lawson State Community College. He worked at Metal Plate located in North Birmingham for over 10 years. He gained lots of experience where he was valued for his hard work and dedication. Recus was an artistic and gifted individual. From drawing, fixing on vehicles, hanging televisions, and assisting family and friends. It warmed his heart and soul to be there for his loved ones! Not only did he wear a smile, but he also put smiles on other faces. His gratitude, presence, personality, and attitude was always positive and welcoming! Conversations with Recus always ended with a learning experience! He spoke truth, he spoke facts, he educated, and he provided life lessons. He was a Godsend! Recus married his soulmate Starletra earlier this year. They shared many wonderful moments together! The love that he had for Star was undeniable. She was his best friend! She will always remember the life that they shared together. May God strengthen her and provide her with the guidance she needs to see brighter days! Their love will never fade away. Although, their time was cut short, she has a lifetime of memories to hold on to. To know Recus, was to love Recus. He was all about family. He was thankful for his parents.
