Aree Williams Sherer was born on December 24, 1926 to Aaron & Adell Williams in Selma, Alabama. She took her rest on July 24, 2020.
At an early age, Aree confessed Christ and united with New Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend S.H. Ravizee.
She actively served on the Usher Board, Pastoral Aide, and Missionary Society.
Aree was employed in the Birmingham City School System for 31 years. After retiring in 1990, she decided to return to school to pursue her pastime passion for cosmetology at Lawson State Community College.
Ms. Aree was a pillar in the Northside community and affectionately known as a mother, grandmother and beacon of light to those she came into contact with. She loved people, and her influence and gentle approach showed wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron & Adell Williams and son Sam Jerome Sherer.
She leaves to cherish her legacy:
Three sons: Edgar (Quentella) Frank and Eugene;
Three daughters: Linda Joyce, Juanita, and Yolanda (David Jr.),
twelve grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, special nephew Harrison Jackson and a host of other relatives and friends
