Bobby Bruce Horn

Bobby Bruce Horn was born in Whatley, Alabama on July 9, 1950. He was the only child of Thomas Bruce and Marie Horn, both of whom preceded him in death.

Bobby confessed Christ at an early age and grew up in Morning Star Baptist Church in Whatley, Alabama. He attended and graduated from Grove Hill High School in 1968. Later he attended Selma University and met his best friend Bill. Bobby continued his studies and graduated from Knoxville College with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Nutrition Science.

Bobby married the love of his life, LaQuita Marcus, on February 10, 1973. They were married for 47 years. To this union one child was born, LaTonya Nicole Horn. They raised their daughter with moral and ethical values always expressing the importance of family and a good education. He was a father who was totally supportive of his wife and all of LaTonya’s activities and milestones throughout her life.

Bobby was an Army Veteran and after returning to civilian life, he worked at Baptist Montclair Hospital and Harris Early Learning Center as a Nutritionist where he retired in March 2020. Throughout his lifetime, Bobby received numerous awards and certificates from Auburn University for his tremendous work and dedication to the Harris Early Learning Center.

Bobby was a faithful member of Living Stones Temple. As a devoted and active member, he served in many community activities and men’s ministries.

Bobby's memory will be cherished by his loving wife, LaQuita Horn; Only daughter, LaTonya Horn Paul; Two grandsons, Aaron and Andrew Paul; Sister-in-law, Vashone Todd; Aunt, Margaret Bowden; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbors and good friends.
