Dannis Patricia White was born January 9, 1941 in Boothton, AL to the late
Sanford and Lorene White. At an early age, she was found to possess remarkable
musical talents. Without any formal training, she played the piano by ear.
After graduating from Rosedale High School, she relocated to Detroit where she
began a career with AT&T. While living there, Dannis occasionally worked as a
session musician and background singer for a number of Motown artitsts.
Dannis returned to Birmingham and continued working until her retirement after
nearly 30 years of service. She later worked for the City of Homewood Parks and
Recreation Board at the Lee Community Center. Throughout the years, Dannis
served as a musician for several churches in the Birmingham area.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Meredith "Paul" White and sister,
Valerie Murdock. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter Nicole
Davis; brother, Warren White; and a host of nieces and nephews.
