David was born to the late Freeman Woods, Sr and Lucille Nelson Woods on January 21, 1955. He was the ninth of nine children born to this union.He was a regular church goer that confessed Christ at an early age. He attended public schools and was a graduate of Dora High School. Upon completing high school he worked various places of employment including Stone's Heating and Air Compay and Done Construction in Fairhope, Alabama. He moved to Mobile, Alabama in the earlt 90's. David was a very kind and outgoing person who enjoyed dancing and being with family and friends. His famous dance he called, "The Broke Hip." He loved his nieces and nephews. Even in his sickness, David met no strangers. He lived life to the fullest. David departed this Earthly life on February 8, 2020 at Birmingham Nursing & Rehab in Pratt City. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Charles Carson, Louis Woods, Gladys Woods-Fields, Freeman Woods, Jr., Doris Woods, Verna Carson, Josephine Woods and Jimmie Woods. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins that loved and cared for him dearly and special cousins, Linda Woods, Billy Woods and Jessie Wilkerson.
