James was retired from Golden Flake after 25 years of service. Later he and his wife, Tometruis, opened their own business, Kidz Zone Christian Academy in 2009 in Hueytown were he was loved by many kids. Later he joined the Fedex team until his illness occurred. He was a faithful member of Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Montevallo where he served as Deacon. His life memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Tometruis; Children, Elise (Steve), Shermica, Elsen, Harley, Emmanuel, Cortni (Ardalia) and Rodriquez (Bre'Ontnce); Siblings, Roy (Cynthia) Hatten, Dorothy Mae Hatten and Alice (Unoseay) Mahone; 9 grandchildren; Very special and devoted friends, Raymond Stewart and Lucille Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service is Saturday Oct. 10, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Brooks Family Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow by the way of Horse and Caisson at the Valhalla Cemetery.
