Jerry Lee Pope

Mr.  Jerry Lee Pope was born to the late Willie R. and Catherine S. Pope on November 17, 1952, in Birmingham, Alabama. He gained his wings on October 12, 2023.

Jerry grew up in the Ensley area where he attended Moore Elementary, Councill Middle, and Western Olin High School. He was a member of St. James Baptist Christian Center under the leadership of pastor A.B. Jackson. He loved fishing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry R. Pope, and a sister, Ellen V. Carlton.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Rosalie Pope; Children: Keisha (Marcus) Acoff, Sr. and Michael Howard, Sr.; Siblings: Virginia Oliver, Lauretta (Nathaniel) Driskell, Geraldine (Gus) Woods, and Willie R. Pope, Jr., all of Birmingham, Alabama; Grandchildren: Jermarcus, Marcus, Jr., and Mason Acoff, Michael Howard, Jr., Jasmine Alexander, Mikeria Howard, Markesh and Tiffany Acoff; Great-granddaughter, Hailey Horton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
