Willie Lee Stephens was born August 21, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Luther and Lola Stephens. He matriculated through the Birmingham City School System into Ullman High School. At the age of 19, he joined the United States Army where he served two honorable terms. He served in the Vietnam War in 1966 where he received several medals including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal, Army Sharp Shooter, Army Expert Shooting, Republic of Vietnam Service, along with several others. He departed his earthly life on December 22, 2022 to enter a new life where he will be rejoined with his beloved wife, Virginia Stephens; his son, Reginald Robinson; parents, Luther and Lola Stephens; brothers, Luther, Robert and Roy Stephens; sisters, Mary and Ruth Stephens; and several nieces and nephews. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Lolita Stephens and Walter Robinson; brother, Charles Stephens; Sisters-in-law, Annie Kennedy, Jannie Maxwell and Rosie Cameron; Brother-in-law, Victor Lanier; Special nephew, Melvin (Donna Faye) Stephens; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
